What is LG's Smart TV Technology?

LG Smart TV has changed the way you can experience content on your LCD TV. With a plethora of built in apps, LG has opened up a new world of movies, music, and internet content, right on your big LCD TV Screen.

Using their patented 'MagicMotion Remote' - which acts like a pointer - you simply choose which app you wish to open and away you go. No more using up/down/left/right and 'select' buttons on the remote, the Magic Motion Remote responds to movement (such like a Wii Controller)

There's a range of over 200 Apps available on LG Smart TV's. These include:

  • Facebook
  • Youtube
  • Twitter
  • Bigpond Movies
  • ABC 'On Demand'   (watch back content at any time)
  • Yahoo 7 - 'On Demand' (watch back content at any time)
  • Internet Browser

Of course, an internet connection is required to access any of this content (recommend 3.5 MBit speed). You can use ethernet cable, or the optional Wi-Fi Adapter (AN-WF100) to connect to your home network.

Tips When Buying A LG LCD TV

If buying new, check around for the model which suits both the size of your room, and the features you need. Think about the size, and connectivity your require, and go from there.

Whilst a 46" or above is a great size for a medium to large lounge room, it's total overkill for a bedroom or home office. Take it a few notches down for smaller rooms. We recommend a 32" or below in this scenario.

To get the best price for a LG LCD TV - take note of what models are currently on offer, and shop around. When you find someone you want to buy from, show them the best price you have found and see if they can match it.

If you're buying a used or second hand LG LCD TV on eBay, be sure that it comes with all the original accessories. If buying new, make sure it's sold by an Australian seller so that it comes with an Australian Warranty. Avoid overseas sellers, as often the warranties are not honoured by LG Service centre's in Australia.
